In WWII London was bombed by the Luftwaffe for 57 consecutive nights.
More than one million London houses were destroyed or damaged, and more than 40,000 civilians were killed, almost half of them in London.
The Bomb Sight Project is mapping the London WWII bomb census which previously was only available by viewing in the Reading Room at the National Archives but now thanks to the wonderful and marvellous internet made available for citizen researchers, academics and WWII lunatics like me.
Now you're able to explore where the bombs fell and discover memories and photographs from the period between October 7, 1940 and June 6, 1941.
